Cloey Criggall Branford, FL, Death; UWF softball Athlete died in a car accident

Cloey Criggall, a 19-year-old graduate of Branford High School life was tragically cut short in a crash on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Interstate 10 in Gadsden County around 4 p.m. Troopers reported that Cloey was traveling west when her vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. Authorities noted that heavy rain was falling at the time of the accident, contributing to the hazardous driving conditions.

Cloey’s passing has sent shockwaves through her hometown and beyond. She was known not only for her athletic talent but also for her character, kindness, and faith — qualities that made her a light in the lives of everyone who knew her.

An outstanding athlete, Cloey was admired for her drive, determination, and infectious joy on the softball field. Her teammates and coaches remember her as a dynamic and fearless player, someone who inspired others with her energy, leadership, and unwavering positivity. She brought laughter to every dugout and unity to every team she joined.

Off the field, Cloey’s faith and compassion defined her.
